nā khāile jagadānanda karibe upavāsa
tāṅra āge kichu khā’na — mane ai trāsa
nā khāile — if He did not eat; jagadānanda — Jagadānanda; karibe — will observe; upavāsa — fasting; tāṅra āge — before him; kichu khā’na — eats something; mane — within the mind; ai — that; trāsa — fear.
The Lord knew that if He did not eat the food offered by Jagadānanda, Jagadānanda would certainly fast. Being afraid of this, Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu ate some of the prasādam he offered.
