bhakta-gaṇa upavāsī tāhāṅi rahilā
āra dine duḥkhī hañā nīlācale āilā
bhakta-gaṇa — the devotees; upavāsī — fasting; tāhāṅi — there; rahilā — remained; āra dine — on the next day; duḥkhī — unhappy; hañā — becoming; nīlācale — to Jagannātha Purī; āilā — returned.
All the devotees remained there and fasted, and the next day they all unhappily returned to Jagannātha Purī.
