tāṅhāra caritre prabhu antare santoṣa
tāṅhāra hāte dhari’ kahe kari’ praṇaya-roṣa
tāṅhāra caritre — in his behavior; prabhu — Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu; antare — within His heart; santoṣa — very much satisfied; tāṅhāra hāte dhari’ — catching his hand; kahe — says; kari’ — exhibiting; praṇaya-roṣa — anger in love.
Gadādhara Paṇḍita’s behavior was very pleasing to Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s heart. Nevertheless, the Lord took his hand and spoke to him, displaying the anger of love.
