vaktavya-bāhulya, grantha-vistārera ḍare
vistāre nā varṇi, sārārtha kahi alpākṣare

vaktavya — of words to be spoken; bāhulya — elaboration; grantha — of the book; vistārera — of the big volume; ḍare — in fear; vistāre — in expanded form; — not; varṇi — I describe; sāra-artha — essential meaning; kahi — I say; alpa-akṣare — in few words.

I purposely avoid extensive description for fear of increasing the bulk of this book. I shall describe the essence as concisely as possible.
