Bg 2.67

indriyāṇāṁ hi caratāṁ
yan mano ’nuvidhīyate
tad asya harati prajñāṁ
vāyur nāvam ivāmbhasi

indriyāṇām — af sanserne; hi — sandelig; caratām — mens de flakker; yat — med hvilken; manaḥ — sindet; anuvidhīyate — bliver konstant engageret; tat — den; asya — hans; harati — fjerner; prajñām — intelligens; vāyuḥ — vinden; nāvam — en båd; iva — ligesom; ambhasi — på vandet.

Ligesom en stærk vind fører en båd med sig på vandet, kan blot én af de flakkende sanser, som sindet hæfter sig ved, rive et menneskes intelligens med sig.

Unless all of the senses are engaged in the service of the Lord, even one of them engaged in sense gratification can deviate the devotee from the path of transcendental advancement. As mentioned in the life of Mahārāja Ambarīṣa, all of the senses must be engaged in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, for that is the correct technique for controlling the mind.
